Materials & Inventory Control Manager

The Materials Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of materials flow and to maintain control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including all transactions, procurement, planning, scheduling, cost, warehousing, receiving, and shipping to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time. This position is also responsible for developing and managing all supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and timely availability of company products consistent with customer demand by managing staff and systems insuring material accuracy and availability.
Manage aggregate inventory levels providing delivery within delivery lead time goals while achieving annual inventory turns objectives.
Effectively manage materials to minimize obsolescence expense including active management of ECRN material disposition plans and effectivity dates.
Demonstrate a commitment to safety. Apply a strong working knowledge of safety principles to anticipate and mitigate potential safety hazards. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning company policies that adhere to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
Routinely perform analysis and review of Slow and Obsolete material and report to the Director of Supply Chain the value and detail monthly.
Accurately track the disposition of material that has been reserved for removal, obtaining all required approval signatures prior.
Provide strategic and tactical leadership for materials assuring best practices to continually improve accuracy and timeliness of delivery to manufacturing. Continually develop and contribute to material cost reduction ideas and strategies.
Assure coordination of ECN (Engineering Change Notice) implementation with applicable departments and vendors (sales, engineering, production, and suppliers).
Assure Materials personnel work effectively with Production to assure promised ship dates are achieved. Activities include expediting part shortages, researching material shortages, and working collaboratively to improve the material delivery process.
Provide strategic direction and implementation leadership for the Company's business system development insuring effective use of this key tool for all material control processes.
Interface with receiving, inspection, accounts payable and production to resolve all inventory accuracy or costing issues.
Take initiative and follow through with efforts to effectively utilize and reduce the inventory footprint.
Minimize the part travel path within WPT owned and leased properties.
Provide reports on inventory accuracy (quantity and value), measure move times, pick path distance, and safety performance

Requirements:
Minimum eight years Inventory Control and Warehousing experience.
Demonstrated team leadership skills.
B.A. or B.S. degree in related field.
APICS or CPM certification or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment.
Advanced ERP system experience.
Extensive knowledge of Material Control and Warehousing technique/strategies.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
